M	Mel Gischen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After seeing the rave reviews and a recommendation from our hotel, we chose to spend our last night in Italy at Locando. This was a mistake - the only enjoyable part of our meal was my starter (buffalo mozzarella bread soup) and our wine, these were both delicious . We sat outside in the courtyard which was nice. The ambiance was horrible - some strange almost heavy metal background music playing that then switched off after guests complained. Our waiter was not friendly and didn’t provide any recommendations or guidance and also did not refill our wine glasses once. I had the spaghetti main which tasted like microwave ramen noodles. My husband had the ricotta gnocchi to start which was tasteless and in a watery sauce. He had the pork as a main which he also did not enjoy. None of the waiters asked if we enjoyed our meal nor said goodbye when we left. A very disatisfactory last meal in Sicily. I wish we had gone somewhere else.

There were a couple of more experimental dishes on the menu alongside more classic offering catering to all tastes. In particular I really liked the pork which was tender and succulent. Worth considering if you've already eaten at Accursio and are seeking another restaurant offering a modern spin on fine dining in Modica.

While the chef clearly is creative he and passionate a few things we missed: - We were rushed through all our dishes with max. 2 minutes between :-( - Service was ok, but not necessarily warm or welcoming - the veal was medium rare, but too chewy - Homemade Spaghetti was cooked to long (untypical for Italy)

The whole dinner was amazing, the staff is kind and welcoming, the atmosphere is lovely and every dish we ordered was just outstanding, the staff advised us and brought the right wine to match what we were eating and it was simply spot on. They use fresh produce and ingredients and everything from the bread to dessert was a delight. When we got the bill we also realised it's great great value, somewhere else such a great dinner would have easily been 3x more expensive. I've never left a restaurant so satisfied. I've eaten there also a couple of years ago and alrigalt it was great food now it's even better. I'm sure they'll keep up the good work and improve even more and I'm looking forward to the moment I'll have a chance to eat there again.

The other speaker seemed to be broken. Taste of Food was ok but all in all it appeals unloving ! What a pity...
