★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Discovering Modica Alta brought another aspect to the already enchanting baroque jem. And at the heart of this atmospheric district, perched high above the valley where most of the tourists tread between Modica's churches and cathedrals lies Rappa Enoteca a wine bar par excellence.
The star of the show is the patron Giancarlo who's knowledge enthusiasm and wonderful selection of Italian (Sicilian focused) wines are second to none and priced at almost unbelievably low prices. Better yet any wine can be had by the glass thanks to Coravin.
The goodies also pretty darn good, and pairs with the wines like a hand in a glove. The caponata is the best I've tasted in all my time in Sicily.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff were very helpful and lovely and knowledgeable. They had a nice selection here. We wanted to try a few natural wines from around Sicily and they knew exactly how to choose delicious things for us to try. The aperitivo was also very tasty.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great place to drink, eat and take in the baroque ambience of Modica Alto. Most bars, restaurants, gelatos and cafés can be found in the lower part of the town however Rappa Enoteca is nestled quietly away in the higher part of the city. The very knowledgeable owner Gincarlo and his staff provide excellent insight into the choice of many wines and a tapas style food menu make for the perfect accompaniment. The corvain system allows for you to try a glass of wine without the commitment of having to buy the whole bottle. The wine bar also serves as a place to purchase wine at either at enoteca or take away pricing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was the only place we found open but had a pretty good crowd. We had a couple glasses of wine chosen by the waiter, very good wine. We also had a platter with various selection of delicious food tastings. Really enjoyed the place will definitely visit again
