★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Faro storico costruito dai Pisani nel 1303, ha una vista magnifica. 297 scalini ma ne vale la pena. Danneggiato dal nemico durante la seconda Guerra Mondiale è stato restaurato nel 1955.
 Historic lighthouse built by the Pisans in 1303, it has a magnificent view. 297 steps but it's worth it. Damaged by the enemy during the Second World War it was restored in 1955.

Costruito davanti al porto di Livorno dalla Repubblica Pisana nel 1305, è stato distrutto dai tedeschi in fuga nel 1944.
Venne ricostruito, utilizzando materiale originale nel 1956.
Dall' alto dei suoi più di 50 metri di altezza, propone una grande visuale sul mare e su Livorno.
Conosciuto anche come il Fanale oppure come il Fanale Maggiore, si visita per ora solo in occasioni speciali
( per esempio le giornate del FAI).
It is one of the oldest lighthouses in Italy.
Built in front of the port of Livorno from the Pisan Republic in 1305, it was destroyed by the Germans fleeing in 1944.
It was rebuilt, using original material in 1956.
From the top of its more than 50 meters high, it offers a great view of the sea and of Livorno.
Also known as the Fanale or the Fanale Maggiore, it can be visited for now only on special occasions
(Eg the days of the FAI).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Come sempre la visita al faro di Livorno è spettacolare, la possibilità di salire in cima e di avere un panorama da cui si domina tutta la città è una cosa unica e sicuramente ne vale la pena di fare l'ora di fila per poter avere l'accesso. La struttura di per sè è stata ristrutturata ed è molto bella Io c'ero già stato tempo a dietro e sicuramente è una cosa che rimane impressa; alle mie bambine é piaciuta molto e se ci sarà di nuovo la possibilità negli anni futuri le porterò a visitarla nuovamente.
As always, the visit to the Livorno lighthouse is spectacular, the possibility to climb to the top and to have a panorama from which the whole city is dominated is a unique thing and certainly it is worth it to wait in line to have the 'access. The structure itself has been restored and is very beautiful. I had already been there for a long time and it is certainly something that remains impressed; my girls liked it very much and if there will be another chance in future years I will take them to visit it again.
