★ ★ ★ ★ ★ from Empoli train station there is a small tabaccheria about 50 metres from the toilets. From here you can buy bus tickets for Vinci (2.60euros one way) Immediately as you exit the train station turn right and walk about 70 metres and you will see a small bus station. Take Corsia 4. (oh and the museum was ok not that great but if your a Leo fan you might enjoy it.)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting museum with wooden models of some of Leonardo da Vinci's inventions.
It is over priced at 11 eur though. Unfortunately it is not possible to buy a ticket for just the museum before late in the afternoon.
I think free entry for children to museums is an excellent idea. Not that it's implemented here! But I find it odd when the price for two adults is 2 eur higher than for two adults and a child...
English translation leaflets now entirely missing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A bit disappointed. We expected to see some evidence of a 500 year old building, lived in by Leonardo da Vinci, but the building had so much renervation work it looked like it had been built yesterday. Nothing much to see here. The building that showed facsimiles of his paintings with historic facts about them and his life at the time was very interesting. I think you need to be a real fan of Leonardo to visit.
