★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Splendida pieve medievale sita nella parte più alta di Cerreto Guidi.
Attigua alla grande villa medicea che fu di Isabella de'Medici, un tempo comunicante direttamente con la villa tramite il coro.
Più volte restaurata a partire dall'800 si presenta con una grande navata centrale e due piccole navate ai lati.
L'ingresso esterno è sormontato da un grande portico che si affaccia su un'ampia piazza lastricata affacciata sulla valle dell'Arno.
All'interno sono presenti opere di pregio fra cui un monumentale fonte battesimale opera del Della Robbia e un magnifico crocifisso ligneo, recentemente restaurato, risalente al 1200, opera del Giambologna.
All'interno è presente anche un grande organo funzionante, attualmente utilizzato per le funzioni religiose.
Quadri di pregio e un grande trittico ligneo completano gli arredi.
Splendid medieval parish located in the highest part of Cerreto Guidi.
Adjacent to the large Medici villa that belonged to Isabella de'Medici, once communicating directly with the villa through the choir.
Restored several times since the 19th century, it has a large central nave and two small naves on the sides.
The external entrance is surmounted by a large portico overlooking a large paved square overlooking the Arno valley.
Inside there are valuable works including a monumental baptismal font by Della Robbia and a magnificent wooden crucifix, recently restored, dating back to 1200, by Giambologna.
Inside there is also a large functioning organ, currently used for religious services.
Valuable paintings and a large wooden triptych complete the furnishings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The church is not open to the public, but you can see into it from the screen gallery via the villa medicea. There is an unusual ceramic della robbia baptismal font, pity not to be able to see it closer, would make it worth a visit (and 3 stars). Otherwise, like hundreds of other italian churches....
