★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Esteso sito archeologico di epoca romana, villa marittima a carattere industriale, con resti di fornaci e un essiccatoio per anfore; quindi attività laterizia per produrre anfore, ma anche tegole per le ville marittime locali. Essendo stato il sito una villa marittima, l'impianto era elitario. Una tradizione locale, non ancora confermata, attribuisce la villa a Lucio Licinio Lucullo, generale romano della tarda Repubblica.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il posto é di difficile accesso in quanto é un poligono di tiro militare. Non impossibile. Gli accessi sono normalmente permessi al ponte sul fiume Astura, d'estate. Occorre camminare 1h e mezza. I permessi con l'auto sono sospesi per il covid. L'accesso a piedi dal lato nord (cretarossa) é presidiato. Quando non ci sono esercitazioni si può provare a entrare. Bisogna considerare 1h e mezza per arrivare alle Grottacce. Altrimenti in barca. Cocci, tegole stratificati in prossimità della fornace romana. Resti archeologici di villa romana. Il mare può essere magnifico, dipende dalle correnti. NON ADDENTRARSI DELLA VEGETAZIONE, prima di tutto perché è zona militare. Ci potrebbero essere ordigni inesplosi o rottami di essi. Inoltre l'entroterra é infestato di famiglie di cinghiali. Non è un'oasi naturalistica. Tuttavia paesaggisticamente é bella, tranne le costruzioni militari (antenne gigantesche, torri di guardia, costruzioni e ruderi recenti che deturpano). Ci sono molti rifiuti portati dal mare, sia ingombranti che piccoli. La pulizia della zona quindi lascia a desiderare. Il poster dell'università di Groningen allegato nel luogo di Maps, in inglese, é sintetico e ben fatto per avere riferimenti storici, rilievi, scavi.

However, the landscape is beautiful, except for the military buildings (gigantic antennas, watchtowers, recent buildings and ruins that disfigure). There is a lot of litter brought from the sea, both bulky and small. Cleaning the area therefore leaves something to be desired. The poster of the University of Groningen attached in the place of Maps, in English, is concise and well done to have historical references, reliefs, excavations.
