★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, do not listen to the bad reviews. Most of them are because of the rude or unfriendly waiters, not the food.
Our waiter also told us like 4 words in total, but the whole experience was just perfect. We came for the food and it was 10 out of 10.
During our trip we came back twice. First evening we ate pasta with seafood, and it was just greaaat. The pasta was homemade, cooked al dente (????), and plenty of seafood on top. Totally recommend. Also, we had pizza bufallo, and it has great crust.
The second night we came in for salad mostly, and the bowls were HUGE.
I’d say ignore the service (the place gets really busy), and keep your focus on the food. Pasta is perfect here.
Would definitely come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved the food. The restaurant was crowded but they managed to get us a table. I've ordered the spaguetti ala vongole and I'm about to say that was the best I had in my life. Well executed, pasta al dente, amazing sauce, well balanced seasoning. My partner had one of the pizzas and he loved it too. Staff was very nice and friendly. Definitely recommend and will go back if we have a chance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was great, we ordered the sea bass, perfectly grilled, the cherry tomatoes were some of the sweetest and freshest I've had. The spaghetti vongole was al dente, the clams were sweet, the white sauce was amazing. The service was warm and welcoming, the kind of family run, cozy service you'd expect. Prices were reasonable too. I dont understand why did people give 1 or 2 stars, seems exceptionally harsh.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked a table at this restaurant for dinner during our last night in Menaggio. We were 10 people, and even though the place was pretty busy, they took our order very quickly and the food came pretty fast. We were pretty satisfied with our pizzas, salads, burgers and fish. Everything was very delicious. The service was also very friendly and accomodating. 10/10

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent restaurant with very friendly service. Even the owners are helping customers personally and go out of their way to welcome you and make you comfortable.
The food and wine (red house wine is cheap but very good at only 6 euro per 0.5l) are excellent too. I can recommend the pizza gamberetta with shrimps, ??
Last tip : I ordered two times the home made tiramisù. ??
Short version : highly and wholeheartedly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food at La Trattoria was local and tasty. The serving size of the pasta was a bit too small but nevertheless delicious. The steak was good and I would recommend the mixed fried fish if you like fish. The restaurant is well attended so you have to wait a while for a table or should book a table in advance. The location and furnishing is not that beautiful. A bit later in the evening some tables are a little bit too dark. But all in all I would recommend the restaurant.
