I ordered grilled squid which was tough and overcooked and half the size of the same dish ordered by the Italians sitting at the table next to us.
My wife's food was also disappointing considering the previous reviews.
We didn't try this restaurant a second time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a very good starter at La Bottega (gamberetti is recommended!). However, the rest of the menu was basic. It was good, but kind of overpriced for the quality you get. Communicating in English is quite difficult, but the staff is friendly!

That’s all i can say about this restaurant, a hidden gem on the island of Vulcano.
Food:
I tasted almost all their dishes now and i think my favourite ones are the Gamberetti and the seafood salad. The size of the meals is neither to small nor too big (exept for the Fiorentina Steak, this one is huge!). Everything is fresh, the spices are fitting and do enhance the flavour of the food instead of covering it up.
Staff:
The staff is friendly and helpful, they speak english. They are at hand if you need something.
Location:
Its located in the center of the town, easily reachable by foot if you come from the port. The interior is traditional sicilian and timeless. Everything is clean, even the restroom (which is not a common thing in sicily).
Overall a good experience, i recommend you going there and trying their Gamberetti, if you are into fresh sea food.
