Il Rosario: Nice, clean and quiet hostel service ran by colombian nuns. Fluent in various languages, English, Italian, Spanish, French, German among others. Breakfast service does include a continental variety but coffee i powder based and comes from a vending machine. All in all, however, a clear four of five possible stars. Good for a hostel.

This is a monastery, which also serves as hotel. It's peaceful and clean. It has got a lovely garden and a roof terrace with view over the city. The staff is friendly, the chapel is small but beautiful, and the breakfast is good enough. And the location is absolutely perfect, five minutes from Foro Romano, ten from Colosseo, and fifteen from Fontana di Trevi, yet still it lies on a quiet small street.

This is a great place to stay if you're interested in ancient Rome. It's easy walking distance to the Colosseum, Roman Forums, Palatine Hill, Domus Aureus, and much more. It's a very basic lodging, but nice and quiet, and provides breakfast in the mornings. It has a beautiful little garden and terrace inside. One important tip: do NOT book through Monastery Stays, as they take €22 from you just to make the reservation. You can book directly and save that fee. A few other details: * free wifi * doors are open from 6a to 11p * front desk worker spoke English very well (although when I checked in, it was with one of the sisters, and we ended up settling on French as providing the optimum fluency for the two of us) * water and coffee available for purchase near the front lobby

Rooms are spacious (comfortable if a little on the spartan side), location is very close to the Colosseum and within walking distance of many major pilgrimage/historical sites. Service was excellent (slight language barrier with English speakers) with a good continental breakfast

I think this neighborhood is great: between lots of attractions, good walking distance away from train station, near metro, lots of great bars and restaurants, etc. The hotel itself is quiet and simple with a filling continental breakfast each morning. Most of staff are south american nuns. Very family friendly- they had a crib for 2yr old. elevators help after long day walking. they arranged a taxi for us to reach airport.

+ I really enjoyed my stay at Casa il Rosario! The location was excellent - immediately behind the Roman Forum; just a few blocks away from the Coliseum; a five-minute walk to the metro; and in a hip neighborhood with restaurants, bars, and shops. I stayed in a single room with a shared bathroom and loved it. The room was very simple, but clean, comfortable, and spacious, with a sink and a view into the beautiful courtyard. Everyone I met was so friendly, easy to talk to, and welcoming. The breakfast was fairly simple - bread, toast, jam, etc. - The only downside is the hotel has a curfew, midnight, so you need to be back by then to get back to your room. For the price, this is an excellent location and place to stay for solo travelers!

It's not a five stars hotel but you are treated like their family members. The sisters at the receptionist is really nice giving the information of hotel facilities, public transport ticket, detail sightseeing near by the hotel, and restaurant. Room is decent, clean and perfect for family. You are not allowed to eat in the room but there is a room on the ground floor where you could enjoy your meal with your family. Coffee machine, soft drink and mineral water are available for very good price. Very good !

Nice. Amazingly Quiet. Very safe. You can see the Colliseum from the rooftop terrace where there are some tables and chairs. Also a nice garden area on the 2nd floor. No TV, but we never used one during our trip anyway. Good wifi. Conference room was used by my daughter to study. Dining room has coffee and tea. There's a fridge we could use in the vending machine room. Close to lots of places to eat. I would stay there again!
