A truly glorious view from the top of the tower. The walled city of Lucca is absolutely majestic. And the top of the tower is fascinating and beautiful with an abundance of large growth shade trees and shrubs. Makes the climb and the view that much more enjoyable. Nowhere else that I can think of has this much foliage at the top of a very tall tower.

Well organized, 5€/person. Reserve before or walk by to check when the next slot is available. Green pass required, temperature is checked upon entering the staircase. Charming place to have a great view above Lucca.

Easy, but long climb up to a quaint tower terrace with thin walkways around the oak trees. Beautiful views over Lucca guaranteed.

A must see in Lucca. The town has many towers that were all built in the medival times. Many of them were built as a show of wealth and power in the community. This family decided to take it to the next level and put a private garden on top of their tower. It is super impressive! Fun fact, none of the towers in Lucca are leaning. Some locals make fun of Pisa's prized tower for not standing up straight. TIP: you can buy tickets in advance but it is a major pain. You have to go through a complicated registration process. I recommend showing up in advance and buying tickets for the slot you want, just know that your preferred slot might be booked (but doubtful if it is an hour or more in advance because others will be faced with the same registration process). Entry is 5 Euros and you can stay for 30 mins. There are roughly 230 stairs. They are not steep but there is no elevator.

Towers are everywhere in Italy, and I have climbed quite a few. Beside the amazing view of Lucca and beyond, this tower has trees! Although a historic trope, that is a rarity today and makes this tower a little extra special.

Not a hard climb like Giotto's bell tower or Brunelleschi's dome in Firenzi. Lovely open airy climb. Very inviting area at the top with shade trees and 360 degree view of old Lucca

The view above the tower is spectacular! Also, the information or trivias available while you are going up the tower is very helpful to get to know more about the city of Lucca. I just hope that there are more available space on top given the volume of people that visits. But anyway, 10/10 and everyone going to Lucca should drop by this amazing place!
