Conserva in sé anche un presepe con statue artigianali settecentesche a grandezza 'quasi naturale'. Da non perdere! Spettacolare la scalinata posta dietro l'altare maggiore al cui vertice è allocata una statua lignea della Madonna. Nel periodo natalizio é aperto il presepe realizzato dal seicento all' ottocento con i pastori a grandezza d'uomo. Da non mancare l'appuntamento del "Sabato Privilegiato" che cade ogni primo sabato dopo il 30 Dicembre Beautiful Basilica, also known as Don Placido's Immaculate Conception. The staircase behind the main altar is spectacular, at the top of which is a wooden statue of the Madonna. During the Christmas period the nativity scene created from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century with the human-sized shepherds is open. La chiesa è il trionfo del barocco, tanto che neppure io so se sto sognando o no! A Napoli la devozione popolare verso questa Madonna è altissima: non mi resta che affidarle una preghiera. Amen. That’s truly saying something, but enter this unassuming church right smack in the middle of a great shopping district and prepare to be amazed. This church doesn’t win awards on being pristine but on the sheer beauty and magnificent art that seems to drape everywhere. A must see.
