★ ★ ★ ★ ★ San Gimignano is an extraordinary example of medieval town, with its famous towers and elegant palaces, witnesses of its illustrious past. The complex of the Civic Museums include the Town Hall and Torre Grossa which, due to their exceptional historical and artistic scene in Europe, constitute, together with the Cathedral frescoed, the hub from which departs every itinerary.
The tour includes the Romanesque church of San Lorenzo in Ponte which decorated throughout with a cycle of frescoes depicting the afterlife, with evocative details of Hell, Purgatory and Heaven.

Viewed Man Ray exhibit but there are no original prints.
Only a few contact sheets are by Man Ray, whereas everything else on exhibit have been post-printed and even solarised afterwards.
It is not worth visiting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The building looks amazing from the inside however for the art part of it, I didn't like it at all. The exhibition I've been to I found it impossible to understand what the artist was trying to say, the message behind most of the pieces was incognito for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An interesting place to visit with some great artefacts. Lots of pots from archaeological digs, some put back together to show what the original would have looked like. I spent an enjoyable 30 mins there and the apothecary. Then the modern art exhibition upstairs was also of interest but I’ve been to a lot better galleries of this type.
