E' una piccola funicolare che collega Bergamo Alta al colle di S. Virgilio.
Vi una bassa pendenza e tragitto abbastanza rapido.
La tariffa è 1 biglietto della tratta urbana ATB che si fa a una macchinetta automatica o biglietteria. All'arrivo c'è subito a fianco un ristorante dall'ottimo panorama, mentre a due passi di distanza si trova il castello di San Virgilio con il suo piccolo e grazioso parco per passeggiate e matrimoni.

It is a small funicular that connects Bergamo Alta to the hill of S. Virgilio.
There is a low incline and a fairly quick ride.
The fare is 1 ticket for the ATB urban route which is done at an automatic machine or ticket office. Upon arrival there is a restaurant with an excellent view right next to it, while a stone's throw away is the castle of San Virgilio with its small and charming park for walks and weddings.

Lovely tiny and short berth from Citta Alta to San Vigilio. It literally takes 3 minutes to climb up the tracks. It is worth spending some time visiting the mountain, the views are beautiful. Symbolic price for the journey. It runs every 15 minutes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When in Bergamo, you should take the experience of this spectacular ride of Funicular.
Bergamo is a small city near Milan and basically situated on the small mountains. The Funicular is the main tourist attraction and also useful for the local people.
A ride at evening time is recommended, to get the mesmerising sunset view from top of Bergamo at San Vigilio. You should plan some more time for this because its usually busy ands start station is just 500m away from city centre.
Tip: Rather than taking a single ticket for € 1.3 , we would recommend to buy a day ticket of Lombardy Ticket (€ 16.5) with which you can travel the whole Lombardy region which includes Milan, Lake Como and also ferry rides of Lake Garda.
