★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Posto simbolico nel centro di Bergamo, non uno dei più ricercati dai turisti, forse perché nascosto dietro al teatro.
Il comune potrebbe tenere meglio i dintorni della fonata sotto al fattore pulizia, visto che molto spesso capita di vedere carte ed altro per terra.
 Symbolic place in the center of Bergamo, not one of the most sought after by tourists, perhaps because it is hidden behind the theater.
The municipality could better keep the surroundings of the source under the cleanliness factor, since very often it happens to see cards and more on the ground.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bella fontana quella dedicata a Gaetano Donizetti, situata proprio accanto al teatro a lui intitolato e in pieno centro storico di Bergamo bassa. La pecca è il giardino che gli fa' da cornice lascito un po' in degrado, l'erba purtroppo è molto rada e in autunno è completamente ricoperto di foglie. E molta incuria dell'uomo che con i cani lasciano bisogni un po' ovunque
The one dedicated to Gaetano Donizetti, located right next to the theater named after him and in the historic center of lower Bergamo, is beautiful. The flaw is the garden that frames it, a somewhat decaying legacy, unfortunately the grass is very sparse and in autumn it is completely covered with leaves. And a lot of neglect of humans who leave needs a little everywhere with dogs

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L’opera è dello scultore Francesco Jeraci, e fu inaugurata nel 1897 in occasione dei cento anni dalla nascita del compositore.
Questo gruppo marmoreo semicircolare rappresenta il musicista che ascolta ad occhi chiusi, estasiato, la Musica, suonata alla cetra dalla Musa Melopea.
Jeraci lo aveva infatti pensato per il compositore catanese Bellini, ma in seguito ad un dissenso, sul costo dell'opera, con la città di Catania decise di riciclarlo e regalarlo a Bergamo: bastò semplicemente sostituire la testa di Bellini con quella del collega Donizetti.
L’intera opera marmorea poggia su di un basamento a triplice gradinata e, ciascuno dei quattro lati del basamento, è adornato da un altare in marmo.
Per esaltarne l'armonia delle dimensioni e lo stile, il monumento è circondato da uno specchio d'acqua che ne esalta le caratteristiche architettoniche.
The work is by the sculptor Francesco Jeraci, and was inaugurated in 1897 on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the composer's birth.
This semicircular marble group represents the musician who listens with his eyes closed, ecstatic, to the Music, played on the zither by the Muse Melopea.
Jeraci had in fact thought it for the Catania composer Bellini, but following a disagreement on the cost of the opera, he decided to recycle it with the city of Catania and give it to Bergamo: it was enough to simply replace Bellini's head with that of his colleague Donizetti.
The entire marble work rests on a triple tiered base and, each of the four sides of the base, is adorned with a marble altar.
To enhance the harmony of size and style, the monument is surrounded by a body of water which enhances its architectural features.
