★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best. Gelati. Ever. The flavour combinations are OUT OF THIS WORLD. I wish we stayed in Rome a bit longer so I could have tried more flavours. Check the photos on this review for examples. The nut butter and sage was one of my personal favourites. The port rum and coffee was a punch in the face of flavour. I don't know how they manage to extract so much flavour from the ingredients they use, some sort of black magic for sure. Each of the multi ingredient flavours managed to showcase each individual ingredient on the palate somehow. And they all paired so well together. You can expect Heston Blumenthal to be deconstruction these gelati and selling them for ten times the price. Stop whatever you are doing now and go get some ice cream from this shop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If this is what chain gelato shops are like in Rome, I can't begin to think how good the really artisanal ones would be. But too few days and too many foods to try, so I only visited this one, and it was amazing! Close to a dozen chocolate options alone, mine was a beautifully bitter Indonesian single-source, I think. Always, always ask for cream on top!

There is something for everyone here. There are various styles of chocolate, each with different rich flavors depending on the cacao's origin. And a wide variety of innovative and delightful combinations of flavors. In particular, the fruit flavors shine, made with fresh ingredients and packed with flavor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fatamorgana is the closest place from our hotel for gelato so we stopped there again (we were in Rome just before COVID) and the quality has really dropped. It was not smooth and some flavors were terrible (well… it’s gelato so terrible has a different scale when it comes to gelato.) and we won’t go there again. Year after year we eat gelato all over Rome and Gunther’s (not far away - just down by Ponte Sisto - or by the Pantheon) is the best in Rome and SSOOOO much better. Trust me. Once you’ve had the silky smooth gelato there you will understand my review.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beware, this is not a regular ice cream shop in Rome! I wish I had a chance to try all their flavors, all of them sound crazily good (black sesame with rose buds, Peaches with white wine + many many more!).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I never imagined a Gelato I wouldn’t like….. but now I have. We only stood in line for 2 minutes- We ordered 2 scoops each and 3 out of 4 were icy. Such unique flavors which is what drew me here. The one flavor which was amazing was Prince Baci! Extremely creamy, hazelnut flavor with ribbons of delicious chocolate. The orange chocolate favor is an absolute no go!
