Successivamente, nel 1848, l’edificio in parte distrutto per lasciar spazio alle strutture portuali, e ricostruito alle sue spalle ampliando la parte rimasta integra.
As the name suggests, the church was initially erected in the 17th century in the area of the Molo Grande, near the Maschio Angioino. Subsequently, in 1848, the building was partially destroyed to make room for the port structures, and rebuilt behind it, expanding the part that remained intact.
