★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had booked a car for five days, with super damage and super theft coverage. Upon arrival, I asked if I could have the lease extended with one day. "Ok, no problem". Not having my reading glasses, and getting rushed out to the car, I didn't read the updated contract closely.
Later at night, I found out I had not gotten an extra day, and had been charged €210 extra for something I didn't even understand what was from the papers. This eventually turned out to be some "premium cover" I did not know I had agreed to.
Obviously, it is my responsibility to read the details, but being rushed out like I was made it feel like I've been deliberately scammed.
Europcar's slow customer support provided no help for this, either.
Whether it's a scam or just a case of very bad understanding of English I don't know, but if you choose to rent here I recommend you to ensure that you have booked exactly what you want, check the dates and estimated charge and stick to that plan.
Moreover, the Renault Clio we got was tired and under-powered, but at least the AC worked..
As for me, I'm done with Europcar after two successive bad experiences and will go back to Hertz or Sixt again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I made a reservation with 1 month im advance. When I arrived they (a woman) said that they wouldn't have the car that I reserved. So, I would need to pay THE DOUBLE to get a car from another category. In other words, they tried to force me to pay for THEIR mistake. Never tought it would happen with Europcar. I got very angry and just after almost a fight, she agreed that she was wrong. Such disappointed with the service. Be aware!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Europcar Downtown Catania was fantastic! I would particularly like to mention the extremely professional service and ongoing support from their staff member Luana. She was very helpful and informative with all the necessary information, offering continued support at anytime throughout our rental. Towards the end of our rental we needed to extend & make some minor changes, and she handled everything promptly & professionally, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much Luana for making our rental with Europcar so enjoyable.. I wish that you were at every rental car location!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a fantastic experience here. We had originally booked a car somewhere else and due to a problem there, we needed a car on extremely short notice. We booked a van as it was the only decently priced vehicle that we could find quickly. The website said that they needed two hours to prepare the car, however, it was already ready when we arrived less than an hour later. We were given a free upgrade as the size that we booked was not available anymore. The staff was extremely friendly and even sat down with us to calculate if it would make sense to upgrade to unlimited miles since the trucks come with a limit. The car was new, clean, and drove well. We were able to return it a few minutes earlier than the office opened since we were in a rush and recieved confirmation that everything was OK before we left. Europcar took our disastrous situation and made it into a great experience!!
