★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are already in Heraclea it's worth to visit. Very nice view from the hills. Entrance fee is 4 Euros. It's not worth to drive there extra if you are not particularly interested in archeology.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The archeological site is nice but unfortunately it's in a bad shape. Too few explanations, some of the ruins that seems abandoned and the theater that is completely surrender by a ugly (and at the current status useless) protection

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Disappointed given some of the reviews and information shared by the local Agrigento information office. Don't waste your time. The theatre and housing examples have been more interesting in the surrounding areas. It is from 4th Century BC but after an admission price I expected a little more than just paths and open air spaces that really gave you no sense at what you were looking for or what may have been here in the past

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are only starting to rework the site and recover what could become an ancient treasure. But not yet. Great view of the sea but there are hundreds of views. Consider a 4 Europe entry fee a contribution to a future generations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting, as far as a typical small city. It’s not Seliunte or Segestre in size or grandeur but it does reflect small settlements and is easier to get to than Mt. Adrenone. I studied Grecian and Roman towns as part of my Urban Planning cuticular. There is a small museum, apparently most artifacts have been swallowed up by the museum at Agrigento. You get the idea of what a costal town was like. Entry is free on the first Sunday of the month.
Take the time to go to the modern town. It’s a summer seaside place. The Lido Garibaldi restaurant was a nice find for a Sunday lunch.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ the view from the hill is awesome, but the archaeological stuff is not worth. the whole thing is pretty much a bunch of rocks and weeds with almost no explanation. could be very interesting but it's been left to rot in the sun, and they make you pay to see such disgrace.
