★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Durante il giro a Matera di oggi 23/08/2021 abbiamo visitato la Chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi.
Chiesa in stile Barocco nella quale sono conservate le statue dei 2 Santi protettori di Matera : Sant' Eustachio e La Madonna della Bruna, che durante le rispettive feste vengono trasportate all'interno del Duomo!
La "Chiesa di San Francesco d'Assisi" ottiene senza alcun sforzo il "Bex Approval ?", Complimenti !!!

 During the tour in Matera today 23/08/2021 we visited the Church of San Francesco d'Assisi.
Baroque style church in which the statues of the 2 patron saints of Matera are preserved: Sant 'Eustachio and La Madonna della Bruna, which during their respective feasts are transported inside the Cathedral!
The "Church of San Francesco d'Assisi" effortlessly obtains the "Bex Approval ?", Congratulations !!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In stile Barocco è situata nella centralissima piazza San Francesco. Fu realizzata nel XIII secolo, successivamente nel XV secolo ampliata e nel XIII secolo assunse lo stato attuale. La chiesa sorge dove in antichità risiedeva una chiesetta ipogea intitolata ai santi Pietro e Paolo, tutt'ora visitabile accedendo da una botola dove al suo interno è presente un affresco raffigurante la visita di Papa Urbano risalente al 1093.
In Baroque style it is located in the central Piazza San Francesco. It was built in the thirteenth century, later expanded in the fifteenth century and assumed its current state in the thirteenth century. The church stands where in ancient times there was an underground church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, which can still be visited by accessing through a trap door where inside there is a fresco depicting the visit of Pope Urban dating back to 1093.
