Peccato che tutto l'oro che la impreziosiva, sia sparito con il passaggio di Napoleone Gateway to the city, imposing and majestic, it turns its gaze to the sea. Merita la visita questo antico borgo che ha dato i natali al nostro grande poeta e letterato Leopardi. Bello da venire nel mese di luglio perchè viene fatta una rievocazione storica e a dicembre con i bambini perchè si può trovare la casa di Babbo Natale e tanto altro. Nei mesi estivi e non solo la via è addobbata con fiori o con svariati temi. Historic entrance to Recanati, wonderfully preserved. Nice to come in July because there is a historical re-enactment and in December with the children because you can find the house of Santa Claus and much more. In the summer months and beyond, the street is decorated with flowers or with various themes.

S	Scuola Badaloni on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Porta Marina, di origine medievale, era chiamata anticamente Porta del Mare. Fu ristrutturata in occasione della visita di Papa Pio VI nel 1782;da quel momento fu chiamata Porta Pia o Porta Braschi ( Dal nome di Papa Pio VI). La ricostruzione venne realizzata su disegno dell’architetto Francesco Ciaraffoni di Jesi, mentre il busto bronzeo del Papa, che si trovava in una nicchia, fu eseguito da Giuseppe Valadier, architetto romano. Nella facciata della porta erano presenti due iscrizioni in oro e lo stemma dei Braschi ma le prime furono rubate dai francesi, guidati da Napoleone nel 1798 durante l’assedio della città ed il secondo, abbattuto nel 1860. Le iscrizioni furono sostituite dallo stemma del comune di Recanati, che ancora oggi possiamo osservare. Tra le porte medievali della città è l’unica ad avere mantenuto il portone in legno che, recentemente, è stato restaurato. Ai lati si possono notare due posti di guardia. Nella facciata frontale, a sinistra, si possono ammirare ancora dei merli ghibellini, oltre ai piccoli camminamenti e bocche di fuoco laterali. Porta Marina, of medieval origin, was formerly called Porta del Mare. It was renovated on the occasion of the visit of Pope Pius VI in 1782; from that moment it was called Porta Pia or Porta Braschi (From the name of Pope Pius VI). The reconstruction was carried out on a design by the architect Francesco Ciaraffoni of Jesi, while the bronze bust of the Pope, who was in a niche, was made by Giuseppe Valadier, a Roman architect. On the facade of the door there were two gold inscriptions and the coat of arms of the Braschi but the first were stolen by the French, led by Napoleon in 1798 during the siege of the city and the second, demolished in 1860. The inscriptions were replaced by the emblem of the municipality of Recanati, which we can still observe today. Among the medieval city gates, it is the only one to have kept the wooden door which has recently been restored. On the sides you can see two guard posts. P	Paulus Milano on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ottimo ingresso. .... si rivivono i ricordi .... fino all'infinito la porta di Marina di Recanati fu costruita in sostituzione dell' Antica Porta a Mare in occasione della visita di Pio Sesto nel sono state restaurate anche le antiche porte in legno dell'epoca ai lati si possono ammirare i due posti di guardie in cui risultano evidenti oltre ai piccoli camminamenti bocche di fuoco laterali.
