C	Carlo Carlevale on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Edificato tra il 1100 ed il 1200 per volontà dei ricchi normanni, fu usato nel tempo come la dimora delle famiglie che reggevano le sorti di Larino e poi anche come prigione. La sua collocazione fu strategica, perché venne costruito tra la “Porta di Piano” e la “Porta da Basso” che fino alla metà dell'Ottocento erano gli unici ingressi alla cittadina frentana. IL Palazzo conservò la sua struttura di fortezza fino alla metà del Seicento e in esso vi erano due accessi. Nella metà dell'Ottocento venne acquistato dal Decurionato della Municipalità di Larino. Dalla sua costruzione ad oggi il palazzo subì numerose modifiche e trasformazioni. L'edificio è costituito da più piani, ed al suo accesso, dopo una lunga scalinata, presenta un atrio porticato sui quattro lati sui cui appoggia un loggiato con ampi archi a sesto acuto. Al primo piano è ubicato il Museo Civico, nella quale sono raccolti numerosi reperti per periodo romano, tra i quali anche diversi mosaici pregiati di età imperiale. In una stanza è presente un affresco di inizio secolo, raffigurante l'ala su campo azzurro simbolo della città con ai quattro lati medaglioni con effigi di personaggi del periodo risorgimentale. La stanza è rifinita con motivi liberty. IL corridoio del cortile interno contiene una serie di iscrizioni e reperti antichi. Bellissimi sono i soffitti delle stanze ,a volte , e il terrazzo con una veduta panoramica spettacolare. Vi è anche un museo dedicato a Biscardi, nato a Larino, noto giornalista sportivo della RAI. Built between 1100 and 1200 by the will of the wealthy Normans, it was used over time as the home of the families who ruled the fate of Larino and then also as a prison. Its location was strategic, because it was built between the "Porta di Piano" and the "Porta da Basso" which until the mid-nineteenth century were the only entrances to the town of Frentana. The Palace retained its fortress structure until the mid-seventeenth century and there were two entrances to it. In the mid-nineteenth century it was purchased by the Decurionate of the Municipality of Larino. From its construction to today, the building has undergone numerous changes and transformations. The building consists of several floors, and at its access, after a long staircase, it has a porticoed atrium on all four sides on which rests a loggia with large pointed arches. On the first floor is the Civic Museum, in which numerous finds from the Roman period are collected, including several precious mosaics from the imperial age. In one room there is a fresco from the beginning of the century, depicting the wing on a blue field, symbol of the city, with medallions on the four sides with effigies of characters from the Risorgimento period. The room is finished with Art Nouveau motifs. The corridor of the inner courtyard contains a series of ancient inscriptions and artifacts. The vaulted ceilings of the rooms and the terrace with a spectacular panoramic view are beautiful. There is also a museum dedicated to Biscardi, born in Larino, a well-known sports journalist of the RAI.
