D	Daggy Boy on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Look, it’s really small and the owners have an interesting story to tell about their experiences living on a significant Roman site once a villa near the Roman theatre and the process that brought them to open a small private museum. €3 isn’t going to kill you.
F	Floyd Schneider on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This museum was one of the main highlights of our trip for me (Floyd). I'm still upset that I lot the guide's name. She was so energized and full of information. Her English was adorable. Ten years ago, the city decided to renovate a building inside the walls of Lucca. They stumbled onto a Roman house under the foundation. They dug deeper and uncovered an Etruscan city building! Until recently, archeologists have only found Etruscan burial places. This is an enormous find. The tour lasted a couple of hours, included a video and a personal explanation of everything by our tour expert. Four Euros. I immediately wanted to read everything about the pre-Roman Etruscans. Outside it was 95 degrees-plus, but the museum was air-conditioned:). I love Lucca.

It is small - you get to watch a short 8 minute video, and then you can see some of the original structure they discovered and excavated. This is not a museum 'as such', as the name suggests it is where the roman house was, so it is small. Most items have English explanations, it is very interesting, gentleman was very helpful, and at €3 it really is worth it.

The museum is very small, but shows the remains of a Roman house (domus) found in the foundations of a modern building. The guides are very erudite and give many explanations about the history of the city. I highly recommend visiting the museum.
A	Andrew Delaney-Girard on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great experience! We were lucky enough to be the only ones to be visiting when we went, so the owner of the place gave us a tour of the museum. Small museum but the enthusiasm of the owner and her passion for the finds that were beneath her house were well worth the price of admission. This really makes you look at Lucca in another light, and makes you realize the fabulous history of the place.

The host gave us (8 or so people) an in depth tour of the museum and the relevance of the different exhibits, all centered on the remains of the domus in the floor. The stories told for each were interesting and relevant. It was great, and makes you think what is under any one of the buildings in Lucca. Centuries of history. Maybe one day we shall know more? I would highly recommend this for an easy hour spent in the afternoon before time for aperitif.
M	Maria Bruguera on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very interesting museum in Lucca that taught us about Roman archeology. My highlight of Lucca. We started with a video, and then a lady showed us everything in the museum. We went through the history of Lucca in roman times, a roman map, the history of the house, architectonic elements and all the archeological objects they found. Apparently the excavations were a private initiative. Amazing effort because everything was explained in English. I'm shameful cos we should have listened the full explanation in Italian. Fully recommend to visit this museum.
