Ho abitato in provincia e studiato a Novara per molti anni, una trentina d anni fa, ma qui non avevo mai avuto l occasione di passare. Grazie al geocaching ho scoperto questo convento tenuto benissimo e ovviamente ho loggato la scatolina. Found during a joke of ... geocaccia at night after a nice dinner with high school mates. I lived in the province and studied in Novara for many years, some thirty years ago, but here I had never had the opportunity to pass. Thanks to geocaching I discovered this very well-kept convent and of course I logged in the box.

I frati sono persone squisite ed accoglienti, e fanno molta carità con la mensa del povero e la raccolta di indumenti usati da uomo. Magical and fantastic place ... So beautiful that it was chosen by me and my wife to get married 2 years ago. The friars are exquisite and welcoming people, and they do much charity with the poor man's table and the collection of used men's clothing.

Here is the free canteen to eat which is eaten every day at 19.00 and on Sundays at 12.00. and there is also the church. There is also the history museum.
W	Willy 1 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Anche per me tanti ricordi, da piccoli si andava a giocare sul carro armato e sull'aereo che erano collocati sul prato antistante la chiesa; poi cresciuti, la mattina si faceva footing ed alle sei facevo tappa per partecipare alle laudi mattutine che i frati svolgevano in chiesa. Sostanzialmente gli scenari non sono cambiati, stessa atmosfera e stessa serenità diffusa, la gente ci dovrebbe andare tutta quanta, almeno provarci, e tutti quanti meditare e valutare quanto a volte nella vita si sono perse tante occasioni per essere un po' più normali. For me too many memories, when we were children we went to play on the tank and on the plane that were placed on the lawn in front of the church; then grown up, the morning was jogging and at six I stopped to participate in the morning lauds that the friars performed in the church. Basically the scenarios have not changed, the same atmosphere and the same widespread serenity, people should go there all, at least try, and all of them meditate and evaluate how many times in life many opportunities have been lost to be a little more normal.

Citata per la prima volta nel XII Secolo, San Nazzaro della Costa deve la sua attuale forma al radicale ampliamento operato nel corso del XV Secolo, che ha reso il primitivo oratorio l'esempio più illustre di gotico cittadino: a testimoniarlo ci pensano i caratteristici contrafforti della facciata, così simili a quelli di altre chiese vicine (si pensi a San Lorenzo a Mortara), e soprattutto gli splendidi affreschi da poco restaurati. Quelli a colpire maggiormente sono la "Crocifissione" di scuola lombarda raffigurata nel catino absidale e le "Cristologie" del tramezzo originario, attribuite a Cristoforo de' Moretti (prima del 1451 - 1485 circa). It is one of the most important religious buildings in Novara, both from a historical / artistic point of view and as regards the spiritual aspect. Cited for the first time in the 12th century, San Nazzaro della Costa owes its present form to the radical expansion made during the 15th century, which made the primitive oratory the most illustrious example of a Gothic city: the characteristic buttresses bear witness to this of the facade, so similar to those of other nearby churches (think of San Lorenzo a Mortara), and above all the splendid frescoes recently restored. The most striking are the "Crucifixion" of the Lombard school depicted in the apse basin and the "Christologies" of the original partition, attributed to Cristoforo de 'Moretti (before around 1451 - 1485).

Per raggiungere l'abbazia occorre attraversare un parco a piedi, per un lungo tratto. L'abbazia è ricca di affreschi. Ciò che, purtroppo, la rovina sono i due lampadari moderni al centro della navata. Secluded place compared to the city traffic, ideal for spending time in peace with yourself and in tranquility. To reach the abbey you have to cross a park on foot, for a long stretch. The abbey is full of frescoes. What, unfortunately, the ruins are the two modern chandeliers in the center of the nave.
