I can only be disappointed to see that in the height of the summer season it cannot be visited and there is no information on the matter. There is no local proloco or reference body. Party from Salento to visit the Sila, its natural beauties and its artistic heritage, we return home disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Convento di San Francesco di Paola venne costruito nel 1617 sui resti del cenobio della confraternita di Santa Maria della Pietra. Il complesso architettonico a base rettangolare è collocato su un masso di notevoli dimensioni. Sotto la struttura è presente anche un tunnel di trenta metri, chiamato "Lamia". Al suo interno sono ancora presenti due vecchi abbeveratoi, alimentati da una sorgente di acqua limpida e fresca. L'intera struttura, con il passare del tempo, ha subito ingenti danni. Ristrutturato di recente, è stato destinato a centro culturale - di proprietà del Comune di Pedace - per ospitare concerti, rappresentazioni teatrali, convegni, meeting e cerimonie private. Il convento ospita la Biblioteca comunale di Cosenza ed è l'attuale sede della scuola di restauro "C.O.R.E".
The Convent of San Francesco di Paola was built in 1617 on the remains of the cenoby of the confraternity of Santa Maria della Pietra. The architectural complex with a rectangular base is placed on a large boulder. Under the structure there is also a tunnel of thirty meters, called "Lamia". Inside there are still two old drinking troughs, fed by a source of clear and fresh water. The entire structure, with the passage of time, suffered extensive damage. Recently renovated, it has been used as a cultural center - owned by the Municipality of Pedace - to host concerts, theatrical performances, conventions, meetings and private ceremonies. The convent houses the Municipal Library of Cosenza and is the current headquarters of the "C.O.R.E" restoration school.
