In località Guardamonte, nel 1952, furono ritrovati resti risalenti all'eta del bronzo e alla prima età del ferro.
Gremiasco divenne comune nel 1818.
Fu incorporato nel comune di San Sebastiano Curone durante il periodo fascista .
