È formato dal centro abitato di origine medievale su un promontorio di un centinaio di metri e dalla parte bassa, Castro Marina, centro peschereccio e balneare, nato intorno al porto. Centro storico molto ben tenuto, pulito e rivalutato e marina balneare stupenda. Complimenti all'Amministrazione Comunale ed ai cittadini di Castro.
Municipality in the province of Lecce located on the east coast of the Salento peninsula. It is formed by the inhabited center of medieval origin on a promontory of a hundred meters and by the lower part, Castro Marina, fishing and seaside resort, born around the port. Very well-kept, clean and re-evaluated historical center and wonderful seaside marina. Congratulations to the Municipal Administration and the citizens of Castro.

La sfortunata foratura della gomma della mia auto in pieno pomeriggio domenicale mi ha consentito di conoscere persone di rara gentilezza e disponibilità. Un ringraziamento particolare a Cirino, Alessandra ed agli altri abitanti (di cui purtroppo non conosco il nome) per avermi aiutato a risolvere il problema grazie all'intervento di Salvatore, che nonostante il giorno di festa, è venuto in nostro soccorso. Tutto questo fa di Castro una meta turistica ancor piu apprezzata. Grazie di cuore a tutti
Beautiful place inhabited by fantastic people. The unfortunate puncture of the tire of my car in the middle of Sunday afternoon allowed me to meet people of rare kindness and availability. A special thanks to Cirino, Alessandra and to the other inhabitants (whose name unfortunately I don't know) for helping me to solve the problem thanks to Salvatore's intervention, who, despite the holiday, came to our rescue.
