L’antica «Castrum Minervae» richiamata all’inizio, si identifica oggi con Castro Città o Castro Alta, adagiata su un costone/promontorio discretamente rialzato sul mare e cinta in parte, almeno intorno all’estensione del borgo, da mura e da una catena di castelli con torri cilindriche o a sagoma di cubo/parallelepipedo.
