La struttura risale, secondo i dati ufficiali, al III Sec. a.C. ed è di epoca Romana. Il luogo è suggestivo anche per via dell'altipiano dove sorge il centro storico di Segni. Invito tutti a visitare tale cisterna.
Beautiful and fully open to visitors, located outside, in front of the polygonal and cyclopean wall of the Church of St. Peter. According to official data, the structure dates back to the 3rd century BC. and it is from the Roman period. The place is also suggestive because of the plateau where the historic center of Segni stands. I invite everyone to visit this tank.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La cisterna si caratterizza per la tecnica muraria utilizzata: l'opus signinum, procedimento autoctono dell'antica città di Segni finalizzato all'erezione di vasche e cisterne per l'acqua...del resto per una struttura che doveva stare a contatto con l'acqua continuamente, occorreva una tecnica muraria specifica.
Negli ultimi decenni la cisterna è diventata il campo per la cosiddetta 'giostra del maialetto': manifestazione ludica che affonda le sue radici nella storia e nelle tradizioni della comunità.
The cistern is characterized by the masonry technique used: the opus signinum, a native process of the ancient city of Segni finalized to the erection of tanks and cisterns for water ... after all for a structure that had to be in contact with the water continuously, a specific masonry technique was needed.
In recent decades the cistern has become the field for the so-called 'pigs joust': a playful event that has its roots in the history and traditions of the community.
