★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Di ritorno dalla visita al Castello Aragonese siamo entrati quasi per caso, ma abbiamo scoperto un piccolo gioiello quasi sconosciuto.
La Chiesa dello Spirito Santo è dedicata al Santo ischitano San Giovanni Giuseppe della Croce è stata costruita tra il 1636 e il 1676 al posto della cappella dedicata a Santa Sofia.
La Chiesa anche se non fortemente affrescata ha un fascino particolare, essa presenta una pianta basilicale a croce latina e un'unica navata e tre cappelle per lato. La facciata è sormontata da un'unica finestra mentre la torre situata al lato destro è a forma di piramide e all'interno sulla sinistra una cappella ospita alcune reliquie del Santo ischitano illuminate da corone di luci.
Inoltre nella sacrestia si trovano un affresco raffigurante il Castello Aragonese risalente al XVI secolo e un baldacchino d'argento del XVIII.

The Church of the Holy Spirit is dedicated to the Saint Ischia from San Giovanni Giuseppe della Croce was built between 1636 and 1676 instead of the chapel dedicated to Saint Sophia.
The Church, although not strongly frescoed, has a particular charm, it has a Latin-cross basilical plan with a single nave and three chapels on each side. The façade is surmounted by a single window while the tower located on the right side is in the shape of a pyramid and inside, on the left, a chapel houses some relics of the Ischia Saint illuminated by crowns of lights.
In addition, in the sacristy there is a fresco depicting the Aragonese Castle dating back to the 16th century and a silver canopy from the 18th century.
