★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La costruzione della chiesa madre di Castelgrande è antecedente al 1491, quando esisteva già un’antica cappella, poiché fu in quell'anno, come risulta dall’incisione sul pavimento, che il vescovo di Muro Lucano Antonio Nicola De Piscibus autorizzò la costruzione di un altare intitolato alla S.s. Trinità. La chiesa, di cui la storia ci accerta l'esistenza, insieme al campanile fu edificata nel 1631, senza escludere la probabilità di una presenza anteriore. Era ad una sola navata con tre altari per ogni lato, oltre all'altare maggiore dotato di un grande tabernacolo dorato. Lungo l'abside si snodava il coro in noce.
The construction of the mother church of Castelgrande is prior to 1491, when an ancient chapel already existed, since it was in that year, as shown by the engraving on the floor, that the bishop of Muro Lucano Antonio Nicola De Piscibus authorized the construction of a altar dedicated to Ss Trinity. The church, of which history ascertains the existence, together with the bell tower was built in 1631, without excluding the probability of an earlier presence. It was a single nave with three altars on each side, in addition to the main altar with a large golden tabernacle. The walnut choir ran along the apse.
