R	Roberto Gerbi on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Curiosamente la chiesa non è dedicata ai Santi Martino e Stefano di cui è parrocchia; nel 1822 la chiesa fu dedicata all’Assunta e a San Giovanni Battista, antico protettore di Montemagno, e in seguito solo all’Assunta. La chiesa settecentesca sorge nel luogo di una precedente ed è preceduta da un protiro a pianta circolare. Sull'altare maggiore si trova una tela raffigurante i Santi Michele, Evasio e Giorgio, attribuita al pittore settecentesco Pier Francesco Guala. Al di sopra del coro si trova una tela di Orsola Caccia raffigurante S. Giovanni Battista (1644), di provenienza non nota. La piazza di fronte alla chiesa, con la scenografica scalinata barocca, è considerata una delle più belle del Piemonte; alcuni la accostano audacemente a Piazza di Spagna. La piazza fu ricavata con la demolizione di un intero isolato del grande ricetto fortificato di Montemagno.
