To say: "it is a historical church in 19th-20th century Turin" is too little. For heaven's sake, it is true, very true, but it is too little. First of all: stylistically speaking it is a church worthy of mention. I cannot go into details here but San Secondo also has - and I also underline - an important artistic relevance (parentheses: how many Turin Guides say it? And again: how many know it? Closed parentheses). And then: if it was born in the late nineteenth century - and it is indisputable - the history of the last century cannot be ignored: first of all the exceptional figure of Msgr. Giovan Battista Pinardi, parish priest for many decades of San Secondo, and extraordinary figure of HOLINESS (true holiness, not false). Moreover, the Church is moving towards the official recognition of the sanctity of Mons Pinardi. Very small detail: few know that the Servant of God Don Luigi Sturzo here stayed and celebrated the Eucharist before leaving his homeland for the twenty years of exile (he will return to Italy only in the 1950s) and precisely Sturzo at San Secondo was lovingly welcomed and hosted by Pinardi. But even the last decades of the second millennium see San Secondo Parrocchia very worthy and active. And much of this is related to Don Mario Foradini (parish priest in San Secondo since 74 and still firmly at the helm). We close this short review saying that the eighty year old Turin presbyter has in recent days (23 June) reached the very high milestone of the SIXTY YEARS OF PRIESTHOOD !!!!! Best wishes to him and lucky the parishioners of this part of the city who have enjoyed an uncommon spiritual edification! Long live San Secondo, long live one of the many strongholds of healthy Turin! Ps: it is no coincidence that Blessed Enrichetta built the Sant'Anna Institute in the nearby via Massena: how much HOLINESS within that structure! !!!!

It is a very beautiful Church but above all rich in spirituality. You feel serenity or joy (it depends on the situations) and always FAITH! The parish priest, Don Mario, is a careful and sensitive man, curious and generous. He is a true believer and is an image of the Lord. In San Secondo I find refreshment for the soul and the body. Interesting church without having any significant artistic peculiarities. Participating in the Holy Mass is a real pleasure if the parish priest Don Mario celebrates it. Priest often outside the box communicates and transports in an excellent way.

Parish priest don Mario VERGOGNOSO: ask to confess and first of all, in the middle of the pandemic, he tells you to sit at almost zero distance and to take off the mask, which "only damages the wearer" (and that obviously he is not wearing ), then instead of letting you talk about your sins, he starts like a rocket with the totalmemte no vax political discourse and, while he is there, he also says that study and education is useless, that he has studied very little, because it is enough only faith. Remaining space to tell your sins: zero. His political ideas are his own business, whether one shares them or not, but for NO REASON IN THE WORLD he has to feed you in confession !!! The moment of confession must only be of pure spirituality !!!! I testify to this after two consecutive confessions, not just one, so he is really convinced of his behavior. I thought that the dark ages in which the Church opposed science and knowledge (the populace is much more maneuverable if kept ignorant) and barbecued with scientists were only reachable with the time machine, instead it is enough to enter this parish. Lastly, an important warning: the floors are very slippery (!!!), as, by their own admission, they wax without first removing the previous layers of wax, thus creating extremely dangerous layers, especially for the elderly. NEVER AGAIN !! I really hope that Google prevents the eventual removal by the parish - or whoever it is - of this testimony, which I would reiterate in person in the curia itself!
