A	Antonio R on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di Santa Cristina di Bolsena è una delle chiese principali della città di Torino e delimita, assieme alla vicina chiesa "gemella" di San Carlo, il lato sud di piazza San Carlo in direzione della Stazione di Porta Nuova. L’edificio è stato eretto per volontà della reggente Maria Cristina di Francia, in memoria del figlioletto primogenito appena deceduto, Francesco Giacinto di Savoia. Il progetto e i lavori della chiesa furono iniziati da Carlo di Castellamonte nel 1639 e successivamente dal figlio Amedeo. Madama Cristina volle edificare adiacente alla chiesa un convento, poi occupato dalle carmelitane scalze. La Madama reale fu tanto devota a questo edificio religioso che volle essere sepolta qui nel 1674. Il completamento della facciata in stile barocco risale tra il 1715 e il 1718 è stato realizzato dal messinese Filippo Juvarra. The church of Santa Cristina di Bolsena is one of the main churches in the city of Turin and, together with the nearby "twin" church of San Carlo, delimits the south side of Piazza San Carlo in the direction of the Porta Nuova station. The building was erected by the will of the regent Maria Cristina of France, in memory of the newly deceased eldest son, Francesco Giacinto di Savoia. The project and the works of the church were started by Carlo di Castellamonte in 1639 and later by his son Amedeo. Madama Cristina wanted to build a convent adjacent to the church, which was later occupied by the Discalced Carmelites. The Royal Madama was so devoted to this religious building that she wanted to be buried here in 1674. The completion of the Baroque façade dates back to between 1715 and 1718 by Filippo Juvarra from Messina.

Suggestiva nonostante le piccole dimensioni, entrando in questa Chiesa si apprezza il frutto del lavoro compiuto da Carlo di Castellamonte. La facciata è stata completata da Juvarra nel secolo successivo.
