★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il quartiere di Borgo Venusio, fu costruito a 4 Km da Matera all’inizio degli anni ’50 su progetto (1954) di Piccinato, dallo UNRRA-CASAS su incarico del Centro Studi per l’abitazione del C.N.R., nell’ambito del processo di sfollamento e risanamento dei rioni Sassi (legge n° 619/52), a quel periodo risale anche la chiesa dedicata alla figura di San Giovanni da Matera, santo nato a Matera, nei Sassi e precisamente nei pressi di via Bruno Buozzi dove la sua casa natale ospita oggi un palombaro meno conosciuto rispetto a quello in piazza Vittorio Veneto ma altrettanto affascinante, per visitarlo cercate " la raccolta delle acque" o Giovanni Festa.
The district of Borgo Venusio, was built 4 km from Matera at the beginning of the '50s on a project (1954) of Piccinato, from UNRRA-CASAS on behalf of the Study Center for housing the CNR, as part of the process of displacement and rehabilitation of the Sassi districts (law n. 619/52), the church dedicated to the figure of San Giovanni da Matera, a saint born in Matera, in the Sassi and near to via Bruno Buozzi where his house dates back to that period Christmas today hosts a lesser-known diver than the one in Piazza Vittorio Veneto but just as fascinating, to visit it, look for "collecting water" or Giovanni Festa.
