★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fu costruita nel 1550 e ricostruita nel 1608. Ha un prospetto barocco, progettato da Vasta nel 1741. Il campanile è del XIX secolo; un secondo campanile, pur se progettato non venne mai realizzato.
It was built in 1550 and rebuilt in 1608. It has a Baroque façade, designed by Vasta in 1741. The bell tower is from the 19th century; a second bell tower, although designed, was never built.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un gioiello incastonato nel barocco.....bellissimo il suono dell'organo a canne. Da visitare assolutamente la cappella/museo del divino amore a pianta ottagonale.
A jewel set in the Baroque ..... beautiful the sound of the pipe organ. Worth visiting is the chapel / museum of divine love with an octagonal plan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tutto chiuso in paese, compreso il Duomo (alle 14.30). Sono rimontato in macchina e sono andato da un'altra parte. Bella la piazza.
Everything closed in the village, including the Duomo (at 2.30pm). I got back in the car and went somewhere else. The square is beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uno splendido esempio di barocco siciliano nel centro di Acireale. La chiesa di affaccia sulla piazza centrale che è decorata con particolari decorazioni geometriche. Rispetto all'adiacente Duomo questa chiesa appare più semplice, quasi dimessa, ma possiede negli altari laterali delle tele di grande valore.
A splendid example of Sicilian baroque in the center of Acireale. The church overlooks the central square which is decorated with special geometric decorations. Compared to the adjacent Duomo, this church appears simpler, almost modest, but has valuable paintings in the side altars.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Imponente su Piazza Duomo, con bella facciata asimmetrica in quanto il secondo campanile, pur progettato, non fu realizzato per non oscurare la meridiana costruita all'interno della Cattedrale.
L'interno, ad una navata, non colpisce particolarmente nella sua semplicità.
Merita comunque una breve visita.
Imposing on Piazza Duomo, with a beautiful asymmetrical facade as the second bell tower, although designed, was not built to not obscure the sundial built inside the Cathedral.
The interior, with one nave, is not particularly striking in its simplicity.
Still worth a short visit.
