Perfettamente recuperata dalla soprintendenza dei beni culturali di Messina, la chiesa è una struttura imponente con un corpo presbiteriale quadrato coperto da volte a crociera costolonate all'interno; al di fuori merli e finestre simili ad un castello federiciano. Tre navate, un rosone e una cupola, rispettivamente nel retro, nel fronte e sul transetto ricordano l'essenza clericale dell'edificio . E' da contemplare la posizione all'interno del percorso naturalistico che attraversa un versante dei peloritani e porta fino alle "4 strade" : crocevia escursionistico dei colli San Rizzo. Spiacevole il fatto che rimanga sempre chiusa e a meno di eventi particolari non sia visitabile. Commonly called "La Badiazza", the church of Santa Maria della Valle, is what remains of a monastic complex dating back to 1100/1200 AD. Perfectly recovered by the superintendency of the cultural heritage of Messina, the church is an imposing structure with a square presbytery body covered by cross vaults ribbed inside; outside battlements and windows similar to a Federician castle. Three naves, a rose window and a dome respectively in the back, front and on the transept recall the clerical essence of the building. It is necessary to contemplate the position within the naturalistic path that crosses a slope of the Peloritans and leads up to the "4 roads": hiking crossroads of the San Rizzo hills. Unfortunately the fact that it always remains closed and unless special events cannot be visited.

Speriamo che la valorizzino al più presto possibile e che possa tornare un bene culturale fruibile dai cittadini e soprattutto dai turisti Enchanting, magical place, away from the chaos of the city. F	Francesco Carte on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un quadro raffigurante la nostra Madre Celeste con accanto una scala volle trovare il luogo di riposo presso questa chiesa e ora noi Messinesi siamo schiavi dell'interdenza ai beni culturali che essa non è un ente religioso e vincola gli orari d'ingresso invece che venga gestito dalla Chiesa Madre Cattolica per permettere ai sui fedeli a disposizione come luogo santuario di preghiera incessante giorno e notte per la pace nel mondo. A painting depicting our Heavenly Mother with a staircase next to it wanted to find a resting place at this church and now we Messinesi are slaves of the interdiction to cultural heritage that it is not a religious body and binds the entrance hours instead of being managed by the Catholic Mother Church to allow its faithful to be available as a sanctuary of incessant prayer day and night for peace in the world.
A	Andreas Appel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful spot, not easy to find - if you think you have reached it go on until the end of the „street“… It hurts that the windows were vandalized and it is fenced off, the inside looks like some work was done but never finished. I really hope this place gets some money it really has potential and I think there are not many structures like this left in the World in this condition.
