★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Per arrivare alla deliziosa chiesetta di San Giacomo, è consigliabile intraprendere la passeggiata che parte dal centro di Gargnano dove si trovano comodi parcheggi. Il percorso è estremamente interessante e permette di godere delle bellezze impareggiabili del paesaggio, delle dimore e limonaie storiche. Una delle più famose è villa Feltrinelli, una dimora con splendido parco che racchiude vicende storiche ben note della RSI . A Gargnano s'e' fatta la storia e S.Giacomo di Cali', costruita sulla riva del lago presso un comodo approdo , è considerata una delle più antiche chiese del lago e le prime attestazioni risalgono al 1194. Dispone di portico meridionale che doveva svolgere una funzione di ospitalità per viandanti e pellegrini e mostra interventi pittorici del Trecento (il più antico rappresentato è il San Cristoforo) di qualità anche se degradato. Ma la meraviglia di questo luogo sta nell'insieme di grande bellezza, un unicum di elementi : il lago scintillante, le antiche limonaie, le reti dei pescatori( ancora presenti) la mulattiera acciottolata, l'antico approdo, tutto dà la forte sensazione che il tempo si sia fermato e l'incantesimo è garantito...
To get to the delightful church of San Giacomo, it is advisable to take the walk that starts from the center of Gargnano where there are convenient parking lots. The route is extremely interesting and allows you to enjoy the incomparable beauty of the landscape, the historic residences and lemon houses. One of the most famous is Villa Feltrinelli, a residence with a splendid park that contains well-known historical events of CSR. La pavimentazione interna è più bassa rispetto a quella del sagrato poiché probabilmente quello era il livello della strada antica
Ancient church located in the village of San Giacomo in Gargnano. The stone façade is almost completely devoid of decorations but inside it preserves paintings dating back to the fourteenth century.
