Il nome Montemorello fu attribuito perché essa si trovava proprio fuori dalla porta Montemorello di Recanati. Nel tempo questa chiesa subì diverse trasformazioni fino alle ultime risalenti all'Ottocento. Realizzata a singola navata, l'interno colpisce per la diversità di colori adottata per le colonne di sinistra (marmo chiaro) rispetto a quelle di destra (marmo marrone scuro) però mantenendo stile e capitelli uguali. Per il resto la chiesa appare semplice così come l’altare maggiore senza particolari opere artistiche, la si ricorda forse di più per il fatto che qui fu battezzato Giacomo Leopardi nel 1798. Built in the late 1500s, this church was formerly called "de Platea". The name Montemorello was attributed because it was located just outside the Porta Montemorello di Recanati. Over time this church underwent several transformations up to the last dating back to the nineteenth century. Made of a single nave, the interior is striking for the diversity of colors adopted for the left columns (light marble) compared to the ones on the right (dark brown marble) but maintaining the same style and capitals. For the rest the church appears simple as well as the main altar without particular artistic works, it is perhaps remembered more because of the fact that Giacomo Leopardi was baptized here in 1798.

L'edificio attuale fu ricostruito da due antenati del poeta sul finire del Seicento, venne modificata nel corso dei secoli XIX e XX, presenta un curioso orologio ricavato nella facciata e un campanile "mozzato diagonalmente nel senso dell'altezza". The church of Santa Maria di Montemorello is, as is known, the parish where Giacomo Leopardi received baptism on 30 June 1798. The current building was rebuilt by two ancestors of the poet at the end of the seventeenth century, was modified during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, presents a curious clock carved in the facade and a bell tower "cut diagonally in the sense of height".

A	Anna Maria Polverino on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa, di origine medievale, ma ricostruita nel Cinquecento, si erge nella Piazzetta del Sabato del Villaggio, proprio vicino a Palazzo Leopardi. La struttura esterna della facciata è semplice e il campanile con tetto a cupoletta presenta un orologio. All'interno, a navata unica, caratteristiche sono le colonne laterali in marmo, da una parte bianco, dall'altro rosso. Pregevole, nel muro sopra l'altare, un antico dipinto dedicato alla Beata Vergine. Nel presbiterio si può ammirare il fonte battesimale, dove ricevette il Battesimo Giacomo Leopardi il 30 giugno 1798. The church, of medieval origin, but rebuilt in the sixteenth century, stands in the Piazzetta del Sabato of the Village, right next to Palazzo Leopardi. The external structure of the facade is simple and the bell tower with domed roof has a clock. Inside, with a single nave, the side columns in marble are characteristic, white on one side and red on the other. In the wall above the altar, an ancient painting dedicated to the Blessed Virgin is valuable. In the presbytery you can admire the baptismal font, where Giacomo Leopardi received his baptism on 30 June 1798.
