Oltre alla bellezza del luogo dove studiò il giovane Giacomo, la visita merita soprattutto per le guide molto preparate e coinvolgenti. Il costo di ingresso è di 7 euro (5 ridotto) e preparatevi a una lunga fila per l'acquisto dei biglietti (nelle'dificio di fronte al palazzo) soprattutto durante l'estate e nei fine settimana. A due passi andando verso la sinistra del palazzo da non perdere il colle dell'Infinito. Inside the Leopardi palace, the family library can be visited on the first floor. La visita è per forza guidata e non potrebbe essere altrimenti, sia per preservarla sia perché senza una adeguata spiegazione perderebbe molto del suo valore. Si visita solamente il piano primo del Palazzo Leopardi perché il secondo è privato e abitato dagli eredi. La guida introduce che ho avuto è stata molto brava, non si è limitata ad una fredda spiegazione e sequenza di sale ed eventi storici ma ha arricchito la visita da aneddoti, approfondimenti, considerazioni sociali legata all'epoca, valutazione e punti di vista degli storici che hanno dedicato molte ricerche al poeta. La biblioteca, nata per volontà del padre di Giacomo e arricchita progressivamente nel tempo, è una sequenza di sale divise per periodi storici e per argomenti. Sono presenti anche pezzi storici di indubbio valore come la scrivania del poeta e altri oggetti che hanno fatto parte della sua vita. Anche se oggi può apparire banale, coinvolge quella che doveva essere la suggestione della vista sulla famosa finestra che ha ispirato una delle sue più famose liriche “A Silvia”. La guida era entusiasta e il tour è stato davvero piacevole. Il museo è un po' piccolo, ma interessante. The Library is a jewel and is located in the building where the heirs of the Leopardi family still live. The guide was enthusiastic and the tour was really pleasant.
