★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ho trovato chiusa, purtroppo, questa bella chiesa dalla facciata semplice e solenne, costruita nel XIII secolo e poi ristrutturata alla fine del Settecento.
Ho letto che è una più antiche di Recanati (si fa riferimento alla sua presenza nella cittadina in un documento del Duecento) e che originariamente essa era denominata Chiesa di San Michele in Ponticello per la presenza di un ponte, appunto, che forse serviva per arrivare da un estremo all'altro di una valletta presente nello spazio della chiesa.
Si trova in Corso Persiani, in pieno centro storico, e vale la pena fermarsi ad ammirarla e a fotografarla.
Unfortunately, I found this beautiful church closed, with its simple and solemn facade, built in the thirteenth century and then renovated at the end of the eighteenth century.
I have read that it is one of the oldest in Recanati (reference is made to its presence in the town in a document of the thirteenth century) and that it was originally called the Church of San Michele in Ponticello due to the presence of a bridge, which perhaps served to arrive from one end to the other of a small valley in the church space.
It is located in Corso Persiani, in the historic center, and it is worth stopping to admire and photograph it.
