Molto interessante .posizionata in altosul promontorio con vista in parte sulla baia del Silenzio ed in parte immersa nel verde. A due passi dal prestigioso HOTEL dei Castelli. Antuca church is rarely open for ceremonies. Very interesting. Placed on the high promontory overlooking the bay of Silence and partly surrounded by greenery. A stone's throw from the prestigious HOTEL Castelli.

Il gruppo sorge sul sito un tempo occupato dalle fortificazioni medievali costruite dai genovesi nel 1145 e smantellate durante un assedio congiunto di fiorentini e veneziani. Nel 1432 vennero ricostruite da Genova. Nel 1810 il castello di san Nicolò venne trasformato in cimitero mentre le fortificazioni rimasero mute testimonianze delle passate vicende guerresche. Mecenate e amante delle arti, Gualino avviò nel 1925 le trattative per la costruzione dei castelli. Vennero realizzati tre edifici, il castello dei cipressi residenza dei Gualino, il castello lecci per gli ospiti ed il castello delle agavi per la servitu. Lo stile è neoromanico, utilizzando numerosi pezzi di reimpiego e si ripropone un modello di medioevo inventato ma verosimile dal punto di vista formale. Una importante funzione decorativa hanno gradini, portali, finestre, colonne, capitelli, camini dallo stile bizantino al romanico e al gotico fino al rinascimentale provenienti dal viterbese, da abruzzo, dalla puglia. Vi è anche presenza di marmi greci, romani e egiziani provenienti da scavi archeologici... Dietro alla chiesa piccoli sentieri con scalini che portano su un altura. Attenzione, da quei sentieri NON è possibile raggiungere l'antenna televisiva marconi. Stone church, a garden with some bench and trees overlooking the bay half hidden by the vegetation. Behind the church, small paths with steps leading up to a hill. Attention, from those paths it is NOT possible to reach the Marconi TV antenna.

Ci sono all'esterno qualche panchina con vista mare e un po di alberi come se fosse un micro parchetto. Nulla di che Da vedere se non si sa che fare a sestri giusto una volta e via. Pretty little church, how pretty the landscape is. Too bad it is often closed. I haven't had the chance to see it inside yet. Outside there are a few benches with a sea view and a few trees as if it were a micro park. Nothing special To see if you do not know what to do in sestri right once and away.

Trae il suo nome dal vescovo di Mira, sorge sull”isola”, promontorio di Sestri Levante. La chiesa, in pietra, richiama lo stile romanico lombardo con tracce d’influenza gotica (ad esempio nell’arco a sesto acuto del protiro).Disposta secondo l’orientamento tipicamente medioevale est-ovest. Circondata dalla vegetazione, ne risulta poco visibile la bella facciata. Purtroppo viene aperta al pubblico raramente, o in occasione di celebrazioni di matrimoni (molto richiesta). Peccato.
