La Chiesa risale ai primordi del cristianesimo in Liguria, quasi certamente al settimo secolo, nella antica “Trigaudium”, nella quale molti studiosi e storici riconoscono la “civitas” romana “Tigullia” distrutta nell’anno 642 dal longobardo Rotari, durante la conquista di tutta la Liguria. Ha subito nei secoli ampliamenti e restauri. L'ultimo importante è del 1642. La prima notizia scritta è dell'anno 1191. L’ultima consacrazione risale al 1763, ad opera del Vescovo di Brugnato Domenicus Tatis, come risulta dalla lapide posta sopra la porta della sacrestia. E' una costruzione a pianta basilicale, a tre navate e copre un'area di circa 300 mq. Possiede cinque altari, il maggiore in ampio presbiterio, dedicato a S.Sabina, in stile barocco genovese, ricco di marmi e di ornati con un pregevole crocefisso ligneo. Notevoli anche gli incontri culturali che sono organizzati sul sagrato della parrocchiale, nonché l'artistico presepio, allestito nel periodo natalizio e preparato con statuine fisse e meccanizzate, abiti e costruzioni realizzati interamente a mano da volontari locali. Da visitare anche la vicina cappella di Sant'Adriano, costruita in stile barocco sul luogo della precedente ed omonima abbazia fliscana. Nell'oratorio adiacente alla Chiesa,tutti gli anni per le festività di Natale,viene realizzato un bellissimo presepe.
