Ha avuto importanti restauri nel ‘900. Dal 1965 al 1988 ha sostituito la vicina chiesa di Sant’Ignazio di Loyola nelle celebrazioni liturgiche.
 Built between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, the name derives from that given at that time to the wool workers, called "ciompi"; in fact, in this area there were wool mills. It had major renovations in the 1900s. From 1965 to 1988 he replaced the nearby church of Sant'Agnazio di Loyola in liturgical celebrations.
