Edificata sui resti di una pieve romanica del XI secolo, dedicata a Santa Maria ed antica precettoria templare, conserva uno stile neoclassico e la pianta a navata unica a volta ribassata. Il retrostante camposanto raccoglie le lapidi più antiche e significative della storia locale e sopratutto permette al visitatore di ammirare l’abside triconica dell’antica chiesetta romanica a pianta cluniacense, unica parte sopravvissuta dell’antico cenobio. Sulla destra del sagrato, vi sono iscrizioni su marmo, che ricordano le principali battaglie combattute sulle rive del Mincio. The church dates back to the 18th century. Built on the remains of an 11th-century Romanesque church dedicated to Santa Maria and an ancient Templar preceptory, it retains a neoclassical style and a single nave plan with a lowered vault. The cemetery behind it collects the oldest and most significant tombstones of local history and above all allows the visitor to admire the tricone apse of the ancient Romanesque church with a Cluniac plan, the only surviving part of the ancient monastery. On the right of the churchyard, there are inscriptions on marble, which recall the main battles fought on the banks of the Mincio.

All’esterno, sul sagrato, alcune lapidi in marmo riportano iscrizioni in memoria delle principali battaglie combattute sulle rive del Mincio. L'architettura risulta neoclassico, di assoluta semplicità con l’interno a navata unica con volta ribassata. Built on an ancient Romanesque church (there is a first testimony in a papal bull of 1145) the parish church of Borghetto, dedicated to San Marco Evangelista, was built in 1759. Outside, in the churchyard, some marble tombstones bear inscriptions in memory of the main battles fought on the banks of the Mincio. The architecture is neoclassical, of absolute simplicity with a single nave interior with a lowered vault.

Direi che nel passaggio, la visita è doverosa.
