Non si conosce da chi e in che tempo quest'ultima sia stata fondata; però non vi è dubbio che era antichissima, perché ha dato la denominazione a uno dei quattro quartieri in cui la città era distinta. La data più lontana in cui si parla della chiesa parrocchiale di S. Michele Arcangelo risale al 1051. Attraverso la consultazione dell'Archivio Arcidiocesano di Ravenna, si è potuto pervenire alla conoscenza di numerosi parroci di questa parrocchia dal 1257 in poi. Essa era stata consacrata dal Vescovo Baglioni il 19 marzo 1626 ma ridottasi in istato fatiscente e non più frequentata dai fedeli per ragioni logistiche dopo oltre 700 anni dalla costruzione, nel 1779 fu alienata e la sede parrocchiale fu trasferita nella vicina chiesa di S. Giuseppe. Ciò avvenne tramite bolla del Papa Pio VI emessa in data 10 settembre 1782, con cui si decretava anche l'abolizione di otto confraternite su quattordici esistenti in Pesaro, tra cui quella di S. Giuseppe. Attualmente la parrcchia di S. Giuseppe pur conservando la propria personalità giuridica, per decreto dell'Arcivescovo Angelo Bagnasco dell'8 settembre 2001, fa parte della zona pastorale del centro storico assieme alle parrocchie dei SS. Giacomo e Lucia e della cattedrale, guidate da un unico parroco. The parish church of St. Joseph replaced that of St. Michael the Archangel which was located not far from the Piazza Grande. It is not known by whom and in what time it was founded; however there is no doubt that it was very ancient, because it gave the name to one of the four districts in which the city was distinguished. The date farthest which speaks of the parish church of St. Michael the Archangel dates back to 1051. Through the Archdiocesan Consultation of Ravenna, it was possible to come to the knowledge of many parish priests of this parish from 1257 onwards. It had been consecrated by Bishop Baglioni on 19 March 1626 but reduced to a dilapidated state and no longer frequented by the faithful for logistical reasons after more than 700 years after its construction, in 1779 it was alienated and the parish seat was transferred to the nearby church of S. Giuseppe. This occurred through the bull of Pope Pius VI issued on 10 September 1782, which also decreed the abolition of eight out of fourteen brotherhoods existing in Pesaro, including that of St. Joseph. Currently the wig of St. Joseph while retaining its legal personality, by decree of the Archbishop Angelo Bagnasco of 8 September 2001, is part of the pastoral area of the historic center together with the parishes of SS. James and Lucy and the cathedral, guided by a single pastor.

Ora che abito a Gradara, meraviglioso paese Marchigiano, eletto Borgo più bello d'Italia, ed ho lasciato le Chiese della mia infanzia, ho trovato a San Giuseppe una unità Pastorale bellissima. Guidata spiritualmente e moralmente da due Sacerdoti stupendi e veramente disponibili, Don Leonardo il Parroco e Don Nicolas il vice. La nostra Chiesa era negli anni '60 una balera, dove i turisti andavano a divertirsi, ora ha cambiato destinazione ma ugualmente piena di turisti perché affascinante è sentire le prediche dei nostri sacerdoti. I was born into a Christian family, with relatives who are very important priests and cloistered nuns. Now that I live in Gradara, a wonderful town in the Marche region, elected the most beautiful village in Italy, and I have left the churches of my childhood, I have found a beautiful pastoral unit in San Giuseppe. Spiritually and morally guided by two wonderful and truly helpful priests, Don Leonardo the parish priest and Don Nicolas the deputy. Our Church was a dance hall in the 60s, where tourists went to have fun, now it has changed destination but equally full of tourists because it is fascinating to hear the sermons of our priests.

Fatta in modo modesto, non sovracaricato, come qualche altra chiesta! Anche il parroco mi è sembrato molto vicino alle persone, coinvolto, non con le solite frasi il che mi è piaciuto! It is not an ancient sacral building, but built in a round shape, which I like very much, as it is more communicative. Modestly done, not overloaded, like some other request! Even the parish priest seemed very close to people, involved, not with the usual phrases which I liked!
