★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta o Chiesa Madre, si trova nel cuore del centro storico, è l'edificio più alto di tutto il paese ed anche il più antico, perché risalente a circa l'inizio dell'XI secolo. La chiesa è a due navate con abside tronca. Vi si accede tramite una rampa di scale. La facciata, a capanna, presenta un ingresso delimitato da conci monolitici di calcare compatto su cui si imposta una semplice cornice aggettante; sulla parte superiore si aprono due piccole finestre di forma rettangolare che ripetono lo schema architettonico del portale. Sulla destra della facciata si erge la torre campanaria a pianta quadrata del 1720, come testimoniato da una incisione che ne ricorda la costruzione:
« "Colli Sumptibus Universitatis et Archipresbyteri fundatum fuit/Anno Domini MDCCXX". »
L'interno si articola in due navate, entrambe intonacate e affrescate. Particolarmente interessante è una tela raffigurante "Le Anime del Purgatorio" del XVII secolo, l'affresco di epoca medievale dei santi Cosma e Damiano e San Lorenzo e la statua lignea dell'Immacolata concezione datata al XVIII secolo. Gravemente danneggiata dal terremoto del 1984 fu restaurata e riaperta al culto nel 1996. (fonte web)
 Church of Santa Maria Assunta or Chiesa Madre, located in the heart of the historic center, it is the tallest building in the whole country and also the oldest, because it dates back to the beginning of the 11th century. The church has two naves with a truncated apse. Access is via a flight of stairs. The gabled façade has an entrance bordered by monolithic blocks of compact limestone on which a simple jutting frame is set; on the upper part there are two small rectangular windows that repeat the architectural scheme of the portal. On the right of the facade stands the square bell tower of 1720, as evidenced by an engraving that recalls its construction:
«" Colli Sumptibus Universitatis et Archipresbyteri fundatum fuit / Anno Domini MDCCXX ". »
The interior is divided into two naves, both plastered and frescoed. Particularly interesting is a canvas depicting "The Souls of Purgatory" of the seventeenth century, the medieval fresco of saints Cosmas and Damian and San Lorenzo and the wooden statue of the Immaculate conception dated to the eighteenth century. Seriously damaged by the earthquake of 1984 it was restored and reopened for worship in 1996. (web source)
