Per apprezzarla chiedere una visita guidata al parroco. The cathedral is a bishop's seat. Beautiful interior fresco but spectacular crypt full of historical details. To appreciate it, ask for a guided tour of the parish priest.

Molto suggestivo l'interno con le sue tre navate. Certamente i restauri non le rendono giustizia. Bellissima la cripta assolutamente da visitare con attenzione. Trivento, la sua cattedrale ed il Molise tutto sono assolutamente da tenere in considerazione per i vostri itinerari. Non rimarrete delusi. The old part of Trivento, a beautiful town 600 meters above the Trigno valley, is embellished by the beautiful cathedral of the eleventh century. The interior with its three naves is very impressive. Certainly restoration does not do it justice. Beautiful crypt to visit with care. Trivento, its cathedral and the Molise all are absolutely to be taken into consideration for your itineraries. You will not be disappointed.

Ha origini molto antiche, edificata su resti di un tempio pagano romano. L'attuale edificio risale all' XI secolo. Una lapide oggi collocata in uno dei pilastri interni nei pressi dell'entrata attesta la consacrazione della cattedrale il 15 maggio 1076 e la sua dedica ai santi Nazario e Celso. L'interno dell'edificio è a tre navate suddivise da pilastri che reggono archi a sesto acuto; ed è abbellito da stucchi settecenteschi. Di particolare valore storico-architettonico è la cripta, risalente all'XI-XII secolo e dedicata a San Casto. Un'iscrizione romana alla base di un pilastro con la dedica a Diana fa supporre che la cripta sia stata edificata su un antico tempio romano dedicato a questa divinità. The Cathedral of Saints Nazario, Celso and Vittore is the main Catholic place of worship in Trivento. It has very ancient origins, built on the remains of a Roman pagan temple. The current building dates back to the 11th century. A plaque today placed in one of the internal pillars near the entrance certifies the consecration of the cathedral on May 15, 1076 and its dedication to the saints Nazario and Celso. The interior of the building has three naves divided by pillars supporting pointed arches; and is embellished with eighteenth-century stuccoes. Of particular historical and architectural value is the crypt, dating back to the 11th-12th century and dedicated to San Casto. A Roman inscription at the base of a pillar with the dedication to Diana suggests that the crypt was built on an ancient Roman temple dedicated to this deity.

The crypt of this cathedral is a surreal and magical place that seems to come straight out of a Dan Brown novel. We lingered to take pictures from every angle and savor the atmosphere full of history that reigns inside.
