Durante il periodo della festa padronale (mese di maggio) la chiesa viene addobbata in un modo particolare e con colori bianco, celeste e rosa, per dare ospitalità alla Madonna del Soccorso (Madonna nera con bambino bianco) protettrice della città.
The church of Santa Maria is the cathedral of the city of San Severo. This church has undergone numerous renovations over the years from which it has absorbed the artistic influences of the various eras.
