★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Naples Duomo's claim to fame is the it houses a vial of the blood of St Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples. The solidified blood supposedly turns liquid twice a year. It the liquefaction does not happen it will mean an impending disaster for Naples. The church itself is fairly ordinary and a touch too busily decorated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Breathtaking. On par with other historic Italian cathedrals in Rome and Florence. Still actively a place of worship and observance so reassuringly peaceful. Free moving inside but steps mean difficult access(with pram).
