★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E' un magnifico complesso monumentale nazionale di molte migliaia di mq, fondato alla fine del '500, che si estende dal decumano maggiore (via dei Tribunali) fino al Duomo di Napoli sulla via omonima.. Attualmente la splendida chiesa e' in avanzato stato di restauro, e non e' visitabile. Da via Duomo si accede, attraversando due magnifici chiostri, alla splendida quadreria che espone numerose opere d'arte tra cui alcune dl Solimena, Luca Giordano, De Ribera, Massimo Stanzione. Dalla quadreria si accede alle splendide sale della prima biblioteca pubblica di Napoli, aperta sin dalla fondazione del complesso, che raccoglie fondi librari, circa 160.000 testi complessivi, preziosi e rari. In queste sale sono passati nei secoli molti importanti 0 pensatori, tra cui i filosofi Gianbattista Vico, che vi ha studiato, e Benedetto Croce..
 It is a magnificent national monumental complex of many thousands of square meters, founded at the end of the sixteenth century, which extends from the decumanus major (via dei Tribunali) to the Cathedral of Naples on the street of the same name .. Currently the splendid church is in an advanced state restoration, and cannot be visited. From via Duomo you enter, through two magnificent cloisters, the splendid picture gallery that exhibits numerous works of art including some of Solimena, Luca Giordano, De Ribera, Massimo Stanzione. The picture gallery leads to the splendid halls of the first public library in Naples, open since the foundation of the complex, which collects book collections, about 160,000 total, precious and rare texts. Over the centuries, many important thinkers have passed through these rooms, including the philosophers Gianbattista Vico, who studied there, and Benedetto Croce ..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ unfortunately the city of Naples currently is very poverty stricken. almost all of their beautiful historic churches are closed and going to ruin, this one included. I only ever saw trash pile up in front of this church the 4 different days I passed by it while in Naples. it was never open any of those days
